Just wrote my DA letter....
by dubstepped inmy wife and i planned on fading but the elders now want a shepherding call and we are just done.
i know that many play the game to try to stay in, but i'm not a game player and neither is my wife.
our families already shun us because we reached out to a disfellowshipped family member.

I've read some D.A. letters on this site where they mentioned at the end of the letter that if any sort of public announcement is made, there will be legal consequences to deal with. That might be something you could add in order to minimize the outfall somewhat. But I'm with you ....get it over instead of having to sneak around and continue to be under their watchful eyes. -

Hundreds of JW Child Molesters in Australia not Reported to Police- CNN News you tube
by flipper ini felt it might be a good idea to post this so that sitting on the fence jw's or jw lurkers can see that this australia jw child abuse news of 1,006 jw child molesters not being reported to police by elders is a reality that has hit mainstream news media.
i thought this report was very well done.

He doesn't know me from Adam and I'd just say that we have a list of random people we are E-mailing . Of course he may figure out that you put me up to it, so I don't know. Yeah...you're probably right but thanks for the offer.
The JW's may not be talking about it in the U.S. here right now- but in my 4 county area I'm going to WORK at getting them to talk about it very soon in a very REAL way. Peace out, Mr. Flippers I'd have flyered our old Hall a long time ago but they have a gate and a security camera.

I wish more people in the U.S knew about this. As far as I can tell no one is talking about it in my area.
I'd love it if someone from this fourm would send an anonymous email to my brother with the links to the hearings. I can't do it myself...he'd know it was me.
If we all did this for each other, the word would get out.

Horley Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses UK (disbanded)
by konceptual99 indoes anyone in the uk know any details about the above congregation?
it seems it was disbanded by the co specifically because of "lack of love" and members reassigned to other congregations in the reigate and crawley areas.. i've checked the charities commission web site and the charity was removed in may 2012.. http://apps.charitycommission.gov.uk/showcharity/registerofcharities/removedcharitymain.aspx?registeredcharitynumber=1066699&subsidiarynumber=0.
the cobe was a guy called rossiter (sp?

Nothing. It's being used. I did hear a very unsubstantiated rumor that the WTS was looking to sell it but I have taken that one with a massive pinch of salt and dismissed it for the time being.
Could it be that they disbanded the congregation because they are getting rid of the building?
I've never heard of a congregation being disbanded for "lack of love". But... Maybe it was lack of love for the Gobbering Body and its traveling representatives.
We had a congregation in my area that was full of intermarried families whose members had become elders and there was infighting and favoritism going on to the point that people were staying away from the meetings in droves. The CO came in an broke it all up...moved people to other local halls removed elders and rearranged the whole thing. Perhaps it was as case of them being too much like the governing body?

I've seen (and worn) some tight pants in my day. My (non JW) Dad used to jokingly say to my brother and I "Hope you guys don't fart...you'll blow your shoes off ! "
The pink socks don't exactly scream "man of God" but none of these guys looked inappropriate to me . When you're young and you look nice, there will always be some jealous person who will find fault. ( Who grew up as a JW and didn't have that happen a time or two ?? )

These young ladies look lovely and it would be natural for a young man to want to find himself in their good graces so to speak. The motivation to serve God however is meant to come from our own relationship with him rather than as a means to satisfy our basic human needs or to impress others.
When young Sisters are told that there is something wrong with a young man if he isn't serving God at a certain level by a certain stage in his life, it sets up a situation where a young man might find himself striving to achieve spiritual goals for the wrong reason. A young woman could also make the incorrect assumption that just because a young man has reached a certain level in the congregation, he has a "good relationship" with God and is sure to make a good husband.

Throwing baby showers, nonstop gifts, pictures and comments all over social media.
Gosh that's got to be hard to take....especially now with a baby on the way. I sometimes think family members go out of their way to over-do the attention they show on each other at these times, so they can really rub it in the noses of the family members who are on the "outs" with them. Social media is the perfect place for this and I have found it better to completely avoid any of their posts and not give then the satisfaction of knowing it has any effect on me.
I wonder if when your baby comes along, your husband will cave under the pressure of wanting his family to be a part of it ? It could be however, that if things are handled just right, they (his mom) might cave just to be able to see the baby.
I'd say, just play it by ear....take it as it comes....but don't let it spoil the special occasion of the baby's arrival.

Potential for new meeting?
by campaign of hate ini've mentioned it in a few threads, but i'd like to make it a thread of it's own.. i'm going to make the prediction the gb will schedule a new meeting once a month, starting in jan 2016, for watching the jw broadcasting program.
at the moment it's up to each cong to organize a viewing, but soon the gb will take over the arrangements.. i make this assumption based on the fact that they know that a substantial quantity of pubs are not tuning in every month.. by scheduling a meeting once a month, it's easier for the gb/elders/organisation to gauge how many people are watching, and to make sure everyone is fully indoctrinated with what the gb are saying.
it will also keep the rank and file busy busy busy.. if i was a cult leader, that's what i would do.

I could see the day coming when for the sake of "unity" they'd have the meetings broadcasted from H.Q. You could sit at home in your underwear "with a tie on of course" and listen and obey without ever leaving the house.
I'm waiting for the day when some disgruntled Bethelite or former JW remotely hacks into their system and hijacks a broadcast during one of these "special" televised meetings, giving phony directives to flee to the hills. While they're at it they could gather or delete the records of disciplinary action taken against individuals etc.

Did you know WTBTS applied for Holocaust compensation?
by umbertoecho indid you know that the wtbts applied for these compensation funds?
i had no idea and if this has already been addressed then so be it.
i find it interesting due to the fact that so much is made of the jws being in camps during ww2 and nothing else is expressed about the other millions who died in these camps.

The Watchtower Org, never backs individuals unless they have something to gain themselves. The Witnesses of that day were taught to look forward to the end of this system and were expecting a tribulation to occur. Lift up your heads and rejoice....your deliverance is near !
Today's leaders are expecting the same kind of tribulation but in the meantime, they sue the current German government for compensation for what happened during Adolph Hitler's reign.
If their coffers get low enough, I suppose they'll be going after the current Egyptian government for damages caused when the Israelites were held captive there.

Manipulation of child minds
by Marvin Shilmer intoday i read a comment on my blog about an image found in a 1958 watchtower publication titled from paradise lost to paradise regained.
it reminded me of what went through my mind back in those years.
watchtower meeting agendas were notoriously boring with the result of children (including teenagers) spending their time looking at pictures in great detail.
